Valiant Pacer, Charger 770 and E48

David Irving is an artist living in the countryside of New Zealand. His works are sold worldwide, with much of his time devoted to the painting or drawing classic vehicles, aeroplanes, historic buildings and portraits. Working from photographs or even just his (or others) imagination, he works mainly with watercolours or pencil, although other media are used from time to time. Chrysler brought out the sporty Pacer in 1969. Powered by a high-performance slant six, it featured a beefed up suspension, floor-mounted four-speed, snarly exhaust, and built-in tachometer. The slant six put out about 170-180 hp, and the quarter mile was about 17.8 seconds.

This is an E49 Charger as raced by Leo Leonard. Perhaps the most successful production race car in New Zealand winning most major events including the B&H 500. Leo was sponsored by Todd Motors and although on a smaller budget out performed the bigger Ford and GM teams. Ford sent Allan Moffatt and his winning GTHO Falcon to New Zealand to stem the losses Ford were having but the Valiant won both encounters.
