When considering classic affordable coupes, Alfa Romeo's wonderful Giulietta Sprint will inevitably be amoung the top ten on most people's lists.

The car offers nimble handling, beautiful balance and glorious engines (it being the world's first mass-produced twin-cam engine) - all of which made it one of the stars in the 1950's and revived the reputation of Alfa.

Alfa produced many different bodies for the Giulietta Sprint, the best selling and most collectable being designed and coachbuilt by Bertone, while the Spyder version was styled by Pininfarina.

I bought a new '62 Sprint direct from the factory in Milano. I took delivery at the Alfa dealer in Wiesbaden, Germany. I loved the car and had lots of fun around Europe and especially on the German autobahn, no speed limit, and blew off several big fat Mercedes. Great look of surprise when I flashed my lights and passed them. Brought the car home in 1964 and traded it when I found out it cost $70 to get the oil changed. Wish I had kept it!
