January 1976: Alpine range of 5 door saloons first imported to the UK, having been announced in France in August 1975. These original cars were built by Chrysler in France, and sold in two versions;

August 1976: UK imports from France ceased, and production of right hand drive cars began at Chryslers Coventory facility. There were no mechanical changes. The opening Chassis numbers were;
