The
Renault Caravelle:
We would like to thank our latest contributor, Johanna Patterson, for her wonderful
feature on the Renault Caravelle. Johanna wrote to us asking why it was taking
so long for the stylish little French wannabe to be included in our gallery.
Rusty and unreliable, the Caravelle was encased in a beautiful body - Johanna
suggested she was the perfect choise to write the article, we look forward to
more of her contributions. |

Free Classifieds:
For over 7 years we have provided an absolutely free
service to the Classic Car enthusiast, be it buying
or selling a classic to helping find that elusive
spare part. Since 1999 several thousand classic car
owners have sold their vehicles or spare parts via
the site at no cost, with no obligation and no hassle. |

The Mustang Story:
With our car gallery now featuring every Mustang released between 1964 and 1996,
we thought it time to look a little deeper into the origins of the world's favourite
Pony car. For those seeking even more information, the Ford Mustang reference page includes
the prototype, engine specifications, identification guide, details on Mustangs
at the race-track and more.

Feeling lonely on MSN Messenger?
The good folk at US Volvo have created a Volvo "BOT"
to keep you company in what could only be described as
a very clever piece of marketing. Both informative and
intuitive, you can ask questions and learn more about
the Volvo range, including the delicious all-paw XC 90
V8. And when we tried to outsmart the bot, it simply
replied
"Eh. Whatever - Did you know most materials in a
Volvo can be recycled. Type 'environment' to find out
more". Worth a look if you are bored; to add the
environmentally friendly bot use the email address [email protected]. |

Wanted
- Car Parts:
We receive hundreds of requests each month for car
parts as those restoring or repairing their pride
and joy seek out the elusive! If you need a part,
we encourage you to place your request in the new "Wanted"
section of the Classifieds. And if you have some
old parts gathering dust out in the garage why not
advertise them on this site - there is no cost for
placing an ad, no time limit on the duration and
you can update it as often as you like. You have
nothing to loose, and may well find a very appreciative
buyer looking for just that part! |

A
win for the Infidels!
We are not sure as to the political correctness of this
one, but we are assured it has aired on European television.
What we do know for sure is that this clip has been doing
the rounds on the internet for quite a while. After considerable
hesitation, especially given the current political climate,
we finally concluded that a trip to Iraq was not going
to happen any time soon for us, and what the hec, if
only this happened to all of em! Go to Media, Movies
to check out the Polo commercial... |

The
Capri Car Club:
As we have had to modify the menu system of the site,
the car club listings and noticeboard can now be found
under the "Resources" menu. The most recent
addition to the listing is the Capri Car Club. Formed
in 1982 with the wonderful Australian assembled Ford
Capri Mark 1 in mind, the Club today caters for any Ford
that carries the "Capri" name, including the
British Mark 1s, 2s and 3s, the Australian designed and
built Ford Capri Convertible and the original Classic
Capri of the early 1960s! The "Capri" name
therefore covers a wide range of models from 1961 through
to 1994, and some of the club members are fortunate enough
to own fully imported English built Mk2 and Mk3's. Why
not pay the club a visit: www.capricarclub.org.au |

Who's
a Naughty Boy?
Maybe you are if you take a wrong turn! Lucky UK
motorists who own a "Tom Tom" brand Satellite Navigation
system can now choose to download the voice of John Cleese
to their system for £9.95. We think this extremely
good value - just imagine how much more enjoyable your
Sunday drive will be when you program it respond to spousal
demands that you slow down with Basil Faulty's inimitable
"Yes Dear". A Tom Tom spokesperson claims the
Cleese voiceover to be a celebrity “first”.
Tom Tom Sat Nav systems are now available in Australia,
to check them out go to www.tomtom.com |

Much
maligned, now highly sought after:
A recent visitor to the site asked for help in deciding
which veteran Holden they should buy. On a limited budget,
the FX/FJ models were quickly scratched as they can now
command prices in excess of 30K for something in good
or better condition. A good condition HQ would be priced
right, but our purchaser considered this too "new".
EH and HR models are now appreciating, and you would
expect to pay in the 8-10k mark for something reasonable.
And so we choose the model that fell in-between these,
the much maligned HD. As the saying goes, time is a great
healer, and we think the HD these days looks pretty good
(not sure if well say that about the Falcon AU in forty
years!). For more info on the HD check our car
gallery pages... |

Melbourne
French Car Festival 2006
Almost 200 fabulous French classics were on show at the
2006 French Car Festival, held at Melbourne's Como Park
North in April. Apart from some beautiful Citroens, Peugeots
and Renaults there were some rare examples of the French
car industry's art, including two Bugattis, a Delage,
a Panhard et Levassor and a De Dion Bouton. Renault Alpine
enthusiasts put on a fine display of almost a dozen cars,
and our thanks go to the Peugeot
Car Club of Victoria for providing these images... |

very much a work in progress, we are attempting to create
a series of articles covering the major events of each

Funny
Photos
The strange, unusual and absurd. While some will make
you cringe at the utter waste of good machinery, others
will detail the trials and tribulations of those that
dwell at the bottom of the gene pool - and then there
are those that seem hell bent on making it into the Darwin
awards! If you have a funny or interesting image (car
related of course) and wish to share it with visitors
to this web site, drop us a line. Click
here to check out our first installment... |
