This car i'm listing for a freind who at 80 years young finds computers a problem
he has owned this for about a year, and but realy wanted a 140 or a drophead E type so he went and bought them both, with another 2 classics( mg & riley) this one has to go!!
it was owned by a gent who for 30 years pampered this hence its overall condition and other than a documented bare metal respray years ago it has only had its drivers floor mat replaced and of course general maintainance
THIS IS NOT ONE OF THE MANY RESTORED CARS (very nice as they are)
it is the real deal
when i first found this car it was covered over with all its doors ajar so as not to stress the rubbers the rear subframe still had the factory cad plating on all of the fixings and when i started it he insisted on driving until hot before re packing it !! PAMPERED IS THE CORRECT DISCRIPTIO
I will attempt to give a rating for this car noting this is a 38 year old car and not a restored creatio
also ill apologise for my poor pix ( im as good at this as i am at spelling !!!)
the body & paintwork is straight and very good with only 2 or 3 chips on the nose as stated before it was repainted many years ago and a fair job was done 8/10
the interior is also an 8/10 with every thing as its supposed to be the drivers seat has just had 2 panels replaced because of cracks ( i personally would have left it as it looked in keeping with a non restored car but hey ! im only listing it )
the leather is supple and has very slight cracks like leather should look carpets very good the only thing that is out of place is the clutch pedal rubber that he has packed out to make it easer for him to select gears there is nothing missing and all works .
the cassette player comes with a selection of tapes ( perry como the duke you get the picture)
the tool roll is there along with all the spare wheel tools
MECHANICALLY
motor has good oil pressure uses no water and oil consumption is normal gearbox quiet syncros good drive train has only a small clunk not unusual rear diff also quiet
brakes good and steering positive overall 7/10
wire wheels all spokes ring and chrome good spinners not great 7/10
worst part as far as im concerned as was done in the 70s underseal in the wheel arches !!!! im sure its not hiding anything i just dont like to see it!!!!
ow it needs a new home so please call for more
