The Gorell family name has, since the mid
1860s when James Gorell opened the family's
first business as a tinsmith and ironmonger,
become synonymous with Geelong industry.
A.E. Gorell and Sons was soon formed, it soon
developed into a thriving plumbing, gas fitting
and ironwork business in Moorabool Street.
During the 20's the tank making business
grew from strength to strength.
