What is the real advantage of LPG over petrol?
It is primarily cost. LPG or Liquefied Petroleum Gas is produced locally and is not refined in the same way that petrol is.
Petrol is also subject to global demand and constraints of supply.
With supply problems in Nigeria, South America and Russia and with growing demand from Asia the prices have been on an upward spiral.
As a consequence LPG is much, much cheaper. The average price of unleaded petrol is around $1.50 a litre.
