I took my car to Alfred Cove Automatics as the transmission was locked into 3rd gear due to a failure detected by the computer, as well as having a routine transmission service. The person, who I assume was the owner, did the service, and said that the transmission problem was going to be "expensive" to fix and claimed he'd fitted a test computer to my car to see if that was the fault, and it would require another service, despite having just had one! As a transmission mechanic he had no business touching the computer on my car, and asking for money for another service immediately after the first didn't sound right, so I went elsewhere and had the problem fixed immediately for under $100. The owner of Alfred Cove Automatics then had the nerve to phone me and demand his computer back, although I suspect he never changed the computer and was trying to make more money out of me. I told him he wouldn't be coming near my car again.
