Torana Nationals 2016
Vikings Park, Wanniassa
13 November, 2016
The Canberra Torana Club would like to invite you to be part of the inaugural Torana Nationals to be held on Sunday the 13th of November 2016 at Vikings Park, Erindale, Canberra. Sunday set up time from 7am, all entrants to be set up no later than 9am, expected finish time 3pm.
Toranas from all over the country will be participating with many thousands of spectators anticipated to attend. The event is designed to showcase the historic legacy of Australian Motoring history, the Holden Torana and will also honour our idol, Peter Brock in commemoration of the 10 years since his passing. The event will also support a number of charities within the Canberra region.
Fred and Christine Gibson will be attending the Torana Nationals 2016 in Canberra as VIP guests. Both formidable race drivers in their own right, they shared a one off drive of an A9X at Oran Park in ’78. Plus Christine was part of the first all female team to race at Bathurst in an XU1 in 1970.
Christine’s race partner from 1970, Sandra Bennett will also be gracing us with her presence. So not only the first husband and wife team but the only all female team to race a Torana will be at the Torana Nationals 2016.
