Kevin 07 unable to attend Deni Ute Muster heaven!

Deni Ute Muster organizers have received word that the Prime Minister, Kevin Rudd is unable to attend the 2009 Deni Ute Muster due to other commitments.

Festival Director, John Harvie is disappointed but hopes the Prime Minister can make it next year.

“We invited the Prime Minister last year also, but unfortunately he was unable to attend due to other commitments.

“But we will invite him again next year as we believe it would be fantastic for Mr Rudd to experience our great Australian Festival and give him the opportunity to visit Deni and our region.”

John Grant and the Mazda ute behind the ‘ute gate’ scandal will still be attending.

The Festival site received over 75mm of rain last week and is starting to take shape with marquees being set up, toilets, generators and other equipment being set in to place around the 120 acre site.

“The site is looking magnificent. Credit goes to our site manager, David Simpson, sponsors, contractors and all the hard working volunteers”, said John Harvie.

Ticket sales are going well with numbers similar to the 2008 Festival which saw 25,000 patrons. The biggest ever attendance.

People from all over Australia have already started to roll in to Deni.

The Festival is a celebration of all things Australian, bringing together the best of the best for 2 days of top class entertainment for all ages including extreme sports action, competitions and the cream of OZ music both days and nights headlining Powderfinger along with The Angels, Troy Cassar – Daley and a swag load more.

Set on the flattest open plains on earth the site includes a huge Family camping area that caters for sedans, caravans, camper trailers and mobile homes so if you don’t have a ute – don’t despair, everyone can still be part of this national iconic event.

Tickets can still be purchased prior to the Festival by calling 03 5881 3388 or dropping in to the Festival HQ in Hardinge St, Deniliquin before 5pm
Thursday. Otherwise tickets can be purchased at the gate.
