The Jaguar Car Club of Victoria Concours D’Elegance
and Display Day 2005. The JCCV will hold its annual
Concours D’Elegance on Sunday, 27th November at
the main oval, Wesley College, corner St. Kilda Road
and Moubray Street, Melbourne, from 10:00 am. Enter
from Moubray Street only, opposite The Belgian Beer
Café.
This annual gathering will be judging members cars
in two classes, Concours D’Elegance for outright
originality and preservation and Enthusiast Class for
pride of ownership. Judging will commence at 10:00 am.
Jaguar entries are restricted to members’ cars
but public attendance is most welcome. The entrance
fee is a modest $5 per adult or $10 per family.
There will be a roving band to provide some music and
food can be purchased from the various outlets both
at the venue and at nearby establishments. Greville
Street and Chapel Street, Prahran, with all their attractions
are within walking distance. A greatly expanded Trade
Display has been arranged with a wide selection of parts,
services and memorabilia for sale. Other British car
clubs have been invited to join us and we expect a variety
of marques and models to be present.
Attendees and entrants are being asked to dress in
the style and period of their vehicle with prizes for
the best outfits. We expect over 200 Jaguars from pre-war
classics to the current models to be present, including
the latest aluminium-bodied, 2005 XJ and can promise
a display to gladden the heart of lovers of classic
cars and this fine marque, in particular.
