Carrow | Pre War British Sports Cars

The Carrow was one of the few motor-cars to be built in Newcastle-on-Tyne. It was powered by a 1131-c.c. Dorman engine with a bore and stroke of 60 x 100-mm. A Ferodo disc-type clutch was used, and a conventional three-speed gearbox took the drive to a spiral bevel rear axle. Cantilever springs were used front and rear, and disc wheels were featured. The car existed for a brief period (1919 - 1920), manufacturing difficulties arising which made it unprofitable to market.
