Hariscott | Pre-War British Sports Cars

Hariscott was one of the many proprietary-engined sports cars that made their appearance in 1920, powered by the side-valve 1498-c.c. (66 x 109.5-mm.) Coventry-Simplex engine. The springing was semi-elliptic in front, and quarter-elliptic at the rear, disc wheels being standardised. A 32-plate disc clutch was used, together with a four-speed gearbox. The chassis was of U-construction, and worm-and-segment steering was featured.

No claims for very high speeds were made by the makers, Harrison, Scott & Co., of Bradford, but the sports two-seater was a genuine 60-m.p.h. production. Very few cars were made, but those that were purchased by private owners gave good, reliable service for many years.
