During the 1930's, and under the leadership of founder William Lyons
, Jaguar created its first sports car
- the "SS".
The SS90 of 1935 was the first off the line, and used
a 2.6-litre engine which capable of 90 mph. It was soon
replaced however by the 125 hp 3.5-litre SS100, a true
100 mph sports car.
