The Club's aims are to:-

Foster interest in the history, restoration and preservation of Veteran, Vintage, Historic, Classic and other recognised categories of motor vehicles.

Promote the use and enjoyment of driving members' cars on well planned outings.
Encourage social activities for members and their families.

Club membership is open to owners of all makes of Veteran, Vintage, Historic & Classic vehicles over 30 years old and to enthusiasts of older vehicles. The club is affiliated with the Queensland Combined Council of Historic Vehicle Clubs.

The Bayside Club organises mid-week and week-end day runs for members each month. The club arranges regular social outings, week-ends away and at least one long distance run each year.

The Club's major events each year are :-

The Australia Day Rally in January which attracts 300-400 vehicles; The Annual Ormiston Swap Meet conducted on the last Sunday in March each year at the Ormiston State School.

In June 2008 the Club will organise the Queensland Combined Council of Historic Vehicle Clubs' RACQ 2008 CC Rally a major rally for old vehicles in Queensland
