    Description:
Gran Premio Motul de la Comunitat Valenciana
Circuit de la Comunitat Valenciana Ricardo Tormo

The Gran Premio de la Comunitat Valenciana has been held every year at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo since the World Championship first visited the Spanish track in 1999, the same year the venue construction was completed. The event has become the traditional end of season finale, with huge crowds at the 150,000 capacity circuit creating a brilliant atmosphere.

Last year, the Valencia GP was the Final Showdown in the Championship – and there was high drama. Dani Pedrosa (Repsol Honda Team) took the win ahead of another podium for Johann Zarco (Monster Yamaha Tech 3), and Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda Team) was P3 to take the crown – but the race saw an incredible save from the Spaniard with the title on the line, and double heartbreak for Ducati as both Andrea Dovizioso and Jorge Lorenzo crashed out. ‘DesmoDovi’ was Championship runner up and Marquez crowned, bringing to a close another incredible vintage year. In Moto2™ Oliveira made it three from three since Phillip Island, and Jorge Martin (Del Conca Gresini Moto3) decimated the field for his first ever Moto3™ win after taking pole for half the season. It was a fitting round up to 2017, with the amphitheatre of Valencia making an incredible stage once again.

The stadium-style nature of the stands around the track means the whole of the circuit can be viewed by the fans as the annual MotoGP™ fiesta reaches a crescendo.

    About the circuit:
The Circuito de la Comunitat Valenciana was completed in 1999 and held rounds of the MotoGP and Spanish Motorcycle Championships in the same year. The Cheste track has several layouts, running anti-clockwise with varying lengths. MotoGP events are held on a 4km track comprising of five right handed corners, eight left handers and a 650m straight. Although the track is regarded as quite small, the pit complex contains 48 garages whilst the stadium style grandstands can seat up to 150,000 spectators. The circuit layout which allows all parts of the circuit to be seen from any stand helps to create a unique atmosphere enjoyed by Spanish and international riders alike and as the last race of the season there is always a party feeling to the Grand Prix, which was voted best GP of 2005 by IRTA.
