Michelin® Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix
Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit

Which GP will provide us with the most exciting race of 2018? Could it be the Australian Grand Prix from the stunning venue that is Phillip Island?

Last year, the Australian GP was once again one of the blue riband events of the year. An almighty battle for the win was one of the greatest races of all time, with Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda Team) just able to edge away in the latter stages. Behind him, Valentino Rossi (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) won a three-way Yamaha battle, with teammate Maverick Viñales completing the podium and rookie superstar Johann Zarco (Monster Yamaha Tech 3) just off the rostrum by milliseconds. In Moto2™, Miguel Oliveira took his first intermediate class win and the first for KTM in the class, stunning the field ahead of a debut Moto2™ podium for teammate Brad Binder. Moto3™, meanwhile, was another Joan Mir-acle – and the Majorcan took the title.

Who will revel in the sweet taste of victory bubbly in 2018? Join us and watch it all live!

About the circuit
Phillip Island, the self-styled home of Australian motorsport, is steeped in motor racing tradition, with the first car races having been held there on public roads in the 1920s. The first motorcycle races took place in 1931 and a permanent track was built in 1956. The circuit fell into disrepair during the late 70s and early 80s until it was bought in 1985 and given a AUS $5m facelift. MotoGP returned in 1989 and 1990 before becoming a regular fixture once more from 1997 onwards.

The Phillip Island circuit is blessed with breathtaking scenery and beautiful ocean views and, as one of the fastest, most fluid, tracks on the calendar, it continues to provide some of the most spectacular racing in the MotoGP season.
