    Description:
    Gran Premio Movistar de Aragón
    Motorland Aragon MotoGP 44600 Alcañiz

The incredible MotorLand Aragon complex is a newer venue on the calendar, nestled in the dry, spectacular landscape of the old Kingdom of Aragon. A technical and challenging track makes for incredible racing, and the world-leading facilities make it an amazing weekend for MotoGP™ fans!

Last year, Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda Team) took another MotorLand win – but teammate Dani Pedrosa was close behind, less than a second off over the line. Marquez had had to fight back through the field after some earlier scrapes with near-disaster, and Jorge Lorenzo (Ducati Team) was the last man on track for the reigning Champion to pass. Lorenzo came third, ahead of a stunning battle for fourth behind Movistar Yamaha teammates Maverick Viñales and Valentino Rossi. Viñales just beat jhis teammate, but Rossi stole the headlines – racing just three weeks after breaking his leg. In Moto2™ the fight was Franco Morbidelli (EG 0,0 Marc VDS) vs Mattia Pasini (Italtrans Racing Team) – and Morbidelli put it all on the line despite his advantage in the standings, getting past on the final lap. Moto3™ was Joan Mir, Fabio Di Giannantonio (Del Conca Gresini Moto3) and Enea Bastianini fighting it out, and the three crossed the line in that order within just over half a tenth.

Incredible landscapes, an awesome track and an atmosphere like no other make MotorLand Aragon a must-visit – make sure to get trackside at this modern classic!

    About the circuit
An ultra-modern facility, MotorLand Aragón had its roots firmly established thanks to a solid history of street racing in Alcañiz, which hosted events between 1963 and 2003. Safety advice warning against the continuation of this led to the proposal and construction of a sporting complex dedicated to motorsport.

With support from local institutions, renowned German architect Hermann Tilke was commissioned to design the facility. The circuit, which is 5.077km long and has 17 turns, was roundly praised by riders after its first Grand Prix in 2010, and it was rewarded with the IRTA Best Grand Prix of the Year award, the first time a circuit had received the prize in its debut year.
