Notes: The rear shelf folded on itself to give access to the boot. If more room was needed, the shelf could be folded down against the rear seat back. With the full load space in use, the shelf could be used as a barrier to stop boxes sliding into the front seats. The clothend vinyl trimmed front seats lacked sideways support; there was a hole on the end of the facia panel for side window demisting air. Access to the rear was a bit cramped, and head and knee room was not over generous.
Heating: The water valve system used had a mind of its own, temperature fluctuating wildly according to engine and road speed. Ventilation was generally good, with stale air being
exhausted through grilles set in the trailing edges of the doors, rather than around the rear window or quarter panels. For extra through-flow, the rear windows could be opened on over-centre latches. |
