This car, along with its 10 siblings, was known as "Delete Models" as Stripes and "Black-outs" were never included in the Livery Finish; this was left to the Dealer to do according to Buyer's wishes........these 11 Capris sat in storage as "Spares" and Ford decided to turn them into "New Car Sales" and then found they had no Engines or Running Gear. England sent over UPGRADED Running Gear as detailed below, as Ford Australia had no more Standard Running Gear as fitted to all the other previous 3litre GTV6 Capris........... Before selling, SEVEN went to FOMOCO Executive Staff from new, to use as Company cars for a small period, to be later sent to Dealers to be sold as Demonstration Vehicles, 4 went to Bib Stillwell Sales for stock to be sold as "Fully Imported Capris" (which they all were anyway!)........ (begs the question : "Why would they need demo cars since these were the last Mk1 Capris the world would ever see?"......methinks political mumbo-jumbo to allow 11 execs/wives to boost their ego with new Capris before selling them to unfulfilled demand by anxious public buyers!) ................ ONLY THESE LAST ELEVEN CAPRIS got fitted out at the FORD Factory with a Heavier/Thicker Engine Block, Up-rated Cam Shaft, Larger valves in Up-rated "D" Port Heads, Up-rated Pistons, Up-rated Front and Rear Crank Seals, Metal/Fibre Timing Gears in lieu of all-Fibre, Up-rated D-GAS Weber Carburettor on top of Up-rated "D" Port Intake Manifold, Customized Ignition Distributor to accommodate all modifications, Up-rated Manual Transmission & Ratios, Up-rated Differential & Ratio, Up-rated Floor Pan Strengthening and Strengthened Seat Anchor Plates. with Engine Output of 165 HP inlieu of all other three thousand Australian built 3L V6 Essex 144HP. These 11 also had the GT Badge on rear quarter relocated several inches away from standard...... A Yellow Decal was also fitted to a number of positions, but always on Air Cleaner and Bulk-Head and inside/outside Owners manual, warning owners that any enquiry for Spare parts must be accompanied by Engine Number, Month and Year etc, to advise Parts Dept of "unique" status of this GTV6 "Special" Capri and that different parts apply in the "uprated" areas.
