This SAAB 96, Chassis No 392027 was built as a RH drive vehicle in Trollhatten in 1966 and was initially sold in the UK. It is a triple cylinder, triple carburetor, two stroke with four speed column shift. The vehicle was soon brought to Australia, where in 1970, it was bought in Sydney from Foley Alfa Romeo by a rallying family who owned the vehicle until I purchased it in October 2010. The gearbox and engine had been removed for repair and were respectively in the cabin and the boot. Upon arrival in Queensland, the vehicle was then fully stripped to its bare shell and fully rebuilt. The entire body, including floor, is original with original glass, headlining, engine, gear box and drive train. The car was painted again in its original B5L - Iceberg Blue colour. Interior trim was copied from the rear side cards and all seats were rebuilt. This vehicle was put back onto the road in Queensland with full registration in late December 2012 and has covered approximately 2,500 miles since that date participating in car club runs and events around south-east Queensland. Its home car club is the Blackall Range Horseless Carriage Club located in Maleny.
