The Weedkender 2010 Albany Classic weekend is a family friendly event with activities to satisfy everybody who comes along – we know it's not just about the cars. This three day event is traditionally held over the June long weekend each year. The event encompasses the Mount Clarence Hill Climb on Saturday, the 'Round-the-Houses' re-enactment on Sunday and the Wind Farm Hill Climb on Monday.
Hours: 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Day 1 Saturday
- The Mt Clarence lookout hosts a fast and exciting hill climb event that attracts big fields of entrants in a wide range of vehicles.
- Head up Mount Clarence to see the cars start at the bottom of Apex drive. As this is an "all out" speed event there will be both historic and modern machinery taking part and these can all be seen in the pit area.
Day 2 Sunday
- The streets come alive to the roar of historic motor sport as a wide variety of historic category vehicles compete against the clock in a trial of regularity. Entry to 'Round the Houses' is restricted to historic category vehicles.
- Everything from pre war specials with wooden or wire spoke wheels to mighty Aussie V8's. Check out British and Italian sports cars, exotic open wheeler racers from the 1950s, 60s and 70s, touring cars from Morris minor to Ford Falcon and a list of other wonderful machinery!
Day 3 Monday
- The Wind Farm Hill Climb is a very fast and daring 1.2 km event that tests your best in driving.
Unfortunately for safety reasons the spectator opportunities are limited.
Albany's main street is buzzing from 9.00am until late afternoon with live entertainment, activities, markets, car displays, movies, museum exhibitions, Great Southern tastings with local restaurants and businesses providing Classic hospitality.
