40th Annual GPA Swim-In and Ex-Military Vehicle Gathering
Ball Park Caravan Park, Corowa
This event is the largest annual gathering of ex-military vehicles in the southern hemisphere. in 2019 we will celebrate the 40th year of this event. The themes will be Year of the Amphibian and Year of the Prototype. People with any type of ex-military vehicle are welcome to attend. This event attracts people from all states and territories of Australia and from overseas.
The largest number of vehicles to be registered was 270 in 2018 with the theme being Year of the Land Rover. There were 111 Land Rovers. Themes for future years are: 2020 41st year and 40th anniversary: year of the Motorcycle 2021 42nd year: year of the Jeep 2022 43rd year: year of the Heavy metal
We set a program of activities which includes visits to towns around the Federation Council area: Wednesday 13th March: Visit to Dookie with a stop at Devenish to view the painted grain silo and have a talk by a local person Thursday 14th March: Visit to Kel Baxter's property at Berrigan Friday15th March: Visit to Corowa South Primary School in the morning and Maurice Wilson's property in the afternoon.
In the evening Doug Draeger will be our guest speaker at the Corowa Football Club. He will talk about Back To the Track in 1995 and the Back To the Track 2020 events. on Saturday 16th March the day commences with a large parade through Corowa at 9am followed by a swap meet at the Corowa Racecourse and Showgrounds.
