The Blast from the Past - Car, Music & Dance Festival, hosted by Lake Side Marketing and Events will be held at Rathmines Park on September 8th from 10am to 3pm. The event is being run in support Toronto Men’s Shed, which recently moved to a new premises, so being able to contribute in this way will go to their expansion will and see more guys being able to benefit from the associations vision of promoting a healthy lifestyle for men by being shoulder to shoulder. For those attending the plan is to have a fun day full of car appreciation, music (Rock n Roll & Rockabilly) and dance (both demonstrations and participation). The event will encompass the area between Club Catalina, the Rathmines Playground and the Community Hall on Stilling St Rathmines. There will be Classic Cars from the 40’s to late 70’s on display. Local band Jumpin Jukebox will be entertaining us and playing for the Rock n Roll and Rockabilly dancing will be on display along with A Pinup and Rock ‘n Roll Cosplay Competition along with vendors catering to this genre and taste. Come try some 50’s & 60’s style food and beverages at the themed Cafes and Food vendors.
