Northam Flying Fifty and Hillclimb [WA]
Harrow St, West Swan WA 6055, Australia
07 April, 2018 - 08 April, 2018 (08:00 AM - 03:00 PM)
The Northam Motor Sport Festival is on again this April 7 & 8
when the streets will be closed to all but very fast traffic.
The two-day event blasts off on Saturday April 7 with the Lindsay Monk Memorial Hill climb at Mt Ommaney.
2018 brings a change of timetable for the crowd-pleasing Minson Motorkhana. This year it will be a twilight event commencing at 5pm in Bernard Park and with the addition of a live band in the sound shell, this promises to be a cracker of a night.
Sunday April 8 is the Northam Mitre 10 Flying 50 with a full day of regularity events around the street circuit in the Northam CBD.
The two-day motor sport extravaganza has FREE entry to spectators and programs are available on site. There will be full commentary on public address and FM radio throughout Sunday’s meeting.
The events include sports cars, racing cars, historic touring cars and combinations of the three. Drivers and their vehicles enter from all over WA, with some competitors travelling from the east coast to make this a highly competitive event.
All the weekend activities are under the supervision of officials from Confederation of Australian Motor Sport. Spectators are asked to follow the instructions of race officials and track marshals at all times.
Organised by The Vintage Sports Car Club of W.A. Inc, with support from the Shire of Northam and the Sports Car Builders Club of WA, the event has been a popular draw-card since it was first run in 1999.
Extra entertainment
In conjunction with the Festival, will be car displays, street stalls, live band and a huge array of family entertainment.
