Winter Classic Rally and Tour [Vic]

The Winter Classic Rally and Tour is a Bitumen only event that was developed in 1997 in response to the popularity of the classic touring style rally for car enthusiasts. Organized by the Ballarat Light Car Club, the event has grown to become a regular event on many competitors calendar.

The event is set around the roads of the Central Highlands and includes some of the state's most challenging driving roads and picturesque scenery The Winter Classic Rally format has been developed over the last 11 or so years to appeal to both regular competitors and newcomers to this style of event. This years event features a choice of either a Rally or Tour format.

The Rally format has been developed to suit competitors who have competed in events of this type before and who enjoy driving tests and relish the challenges that navigationally oriented touring sections provide. The Rally format includes a mixture of challenging driving tests each day to guarantee a true team effort.

The Tour, with clear and full touring instructions, will suit navigationally inexperienced competitors, first time competitors or those who simply wish to enjoy their driving tBirkinests without the highs and lows of finding their way.

The Tour will use guaranteed sealed roads, hence making it suitable for all vehicles. Both the Rally and Tour will use the same driving tests, thus allowing all drivers to compete against each other in this part of the Event. In fact, a single trophy (the Driver Presidents Trophy), will be awarded to the best driver in the Event. Because the Winter Classic Rally is run by a Car Club we openly encourage other clubs to compete and experience this style of event in a friendly, club environment.

To encourage clubs to try and relieve the Ballarat Light Car Club of the magnificent GOLD trophy we have included a Club Team class. Clubs can enter a team of 3 cars in either the Tour or Rally section of the event.

A club team entry also give entrants a discount on their entry fee.
